Orb v2.0

Orb v2.0

Orb v2.0

This Orb object was created using a photo of brushstrokes derived from a painting that is underway.

By adjusting the opacity, you can get a mysterious effect.
I also made a copy and then ran it through one of the decim8 filters.
#iphoneonly with the exception of the circle made in photoshop

for this experiment
I used and image from the Ticonderoga and placed it behind
a large circle with a liberal amount of Gaussian Blur.

The whole image was made black and white using the #inkwell filter in Instagram

Top Twelve Reasons I Love Instagram

1- You can see images captured from all over the globe.

2- The vision of artists and photographers is not confined to New England (where i live)

3- Some  IG'ers weave in parts of their everyday life -This expands my cultural view of the world

4-Pure Simplicity : like a Twitter-Lite

5-A Forum for feedback on images that i'm publishing

6-Words+Images -no wonder Pinterest and Instagram keep accelerating

7- Collaboration with other IG artists

8- Non Linear display of imagery for inspiration

9- See how other artists and photographers are presenting their work

10- A vehicle for spreading and exposure of my artwork: Digital, FineArt and Photography

11- A testing ground for concepts and ideas, and an additional way to connect beyond twitter, and facebook.

12- Cats! Duck faces! and Dogs!

Ginormous

Ginormous

Ginormous (Crafted for Instagram)

This time we have an abstract layer that is forming a screen
for the photo below.

This is a blend mode feature of Imageblender (iphone app).

I like the airy effect created, and the resonance of something familiar.
Perhaps the viewer isn't quite sure. but still intrigued!

Step Up and Dance

Step Up and Dance:

Riding a bus, or walking on the street, waiting for the train in a station or hurrying up to get your flight. In all these places includes thousands of others you never no when someone standing besides you, starts dancing instantly and that really is the Jazz moment of life.
Jordan Matter created his project titled Dancers among us, where he took photographs of people dancing wherever they like to. He hired special dancers for his project to make it realistic as much as he can.

Continued experimentation with iphoneography!

This image relies primarily on Imageblender.

Using the blend modes similar to the ones in Photoshop,
an abstract image is on top using the Multiply blend.
Then this layer is floated above the textures of the photograph.

I believe "Old Ironsides" is the oldest US warship still commissioned with the Navy...

#iphoneography

This photo collage was cropped using #picjointer app on the iphone.

Then a black and white duplicate was made using PSexpress,
a super light version of photoshop.

The double exposure was created in #Imageblender (iphone app)
by arranging the color image over the black and white and
using a subtle mask

and there you have it!

NYC MetroCard as Urban Game

NYC MetroCard as Urban Game:
Proposal for MetroCard Advertising as game or scavenger hunt, puzzle pieces. Smart design and advertisingProposal for MetroCard Advertising as game or scavenger hunt, puzzle pieces. Smart design and advertisingProposal for MetroCard Advertising as game or scavenger hunt, puzzle pieces. Smart design and advertisingClick to enlarge
This is such a great, smart, and fun design solution in response to the recent news that the front of NYC’s MetroCard will be offered as advertising space. Wayne Congar and Brendan Bilko of the creative and brand consultancy firm Mayday Mayday Mayday on New York’s Lower East Side, propose embracing the inevitable by making it into a design-y game. MetroCard as enigma. MetroCard as puzzle piece. Much in the way that a Chuck Close portrait is made up of hundreds of individual abstract shapes and sizes, why not take a billboard or an ad and blow up small sections of it rather than trying to fit an entire ad on the small space, creating an appealing abstract pattern on the MetroCard that will have New Yorkers looking at their neighbors’ cards trying to piece together the whole. Reminds me a little of the popular guerilla marketing stunts that have been adorning the city streets in the past decade. Piquing people’s curiosity and instead of ignoring the ad, creating more of a buzz. Mayday offers four possible ad scenarios on their site, though they admit to not knowing if printing of individual cards will be possible. The way I see it, even if this concept doesn’t work as a puzzle piece, having a uniformly appealing abstract image on all the cards that can get people guessing and interacting is win-win for everyone: we the MTA passengers get an aesthetically pleasing object (always a plus in my book) and the advertisers get people talking about what they’re selling.
